In order to provide a reference for germplasm screening and quality traits improvement,31 wheat varieties(lines) were selected as materials to study the variation and correlationship of carotenoids and some other wheat quality traits;96 wheat varieties(lines) were slected to study the distribution of carotenoid content of different sources and different epidermis color,clustering analysis was done based on longest distance(Euclidean distance) according to carotenoid content; F2 generation of wheat crossing of’ Meng 0318/Wankang 18"were adopted to test the carotenoid content, analyze and estimate the genetic parameters by quantitative trait polygene model.The results show that:1. The variations of carotenoids content and other quality traits tested of 31 wheat varieties were highly significant;Carotenoids content was significantly positive correlated with water-soluble pentosan and yellowness. Carotenoids content was significantly negative correlated with peak viscosity,hold through,break down,final viscosity,uniweight,formation time and was negative correlated with peak time,protein content and stability time.In this study,LOX showed no correlation with potensan;total potensan,water-soluble potensan,water insoluble potensan was negatively correlated with whiteness;peak viscosity was highly significant positive correlated with hold through,break down,final viscosity and peak time;hold through was highly significant positive correlated with breakdown,final viscosity and peak time;breakdown was highly significant positive correlated with final viscosity and peak time;final viscosity was highly significant positive correlative with setback and peak time;protein was highly significant positive correlated with wet gluten,stability time,formation time.2.Range and the total variation of carotenoid content tested of two years were very high,but the carotenoid content of the two years showed highly significant positive correlated (R2=0.436) indicating that carotenoid content varied among variaties,mainly controlled by the genotype; the analysis of varieties different sources showed the same result;but the carotenoid content of different epidermis color showed no significant different;it’s feasible to produce a new white epidermis wheat cariety,optimiz the quality traits through high carotenoid content screening.3. Distribution frequency of carotenoid content of "Meng 0318/Wankang 18" hybridation showed as skewness distribution,indicating that carotenoid content was controlled by main gene,minor genes and its interaction; F2 generation group conformed with one pair of major gene model, the main genotypes were AA,Aa and aa,3 component distribution accords with 1:2:1 ratio;the major gene additive effect da=0.3118,the dominant effects ha=-0.0548,the degree of dominance ha/da=-0.1758, the major genes showed incomplete dominance;the heritability of major gene hmg2=98.70%.
