| Diarrhea symptoms of piglets are common diseases that cause serious damage in pigindustry. In recent years, outbreaks of piglets diarrhea are rapid spread in China. The porcineepidemic diarrhea (PED), porcine transmissible gastroenteritis (TGE) and porcine rotavirusdisease (RV) supposed to be related to diarrhea in piglets that seriously affected the survivalrate of piglets. The growth and health of pigs are still impaired after recovery from diarrhea. At present, chicken egg yolk antibodies are considered to be an effective method for therapyand prevention of many diseases in animals and humans. In this study, we developed the yolkantibodies of PED, TGE and RV diarrhea through immunization with commercial PED, TGE,and RV vaccines in laying hens. These yolk antibodies were purified for safety test andapplication in pig farms. The results were as follows:1.80healthy laying hens were immunized with PED, TGE, RV vaccines via head andchest muscles multi-point injection for three times and10days each interval. The yolkantibodies were extracted by PEG-6000method. The concentration of PED, TGE, RVantibodies was analyzed by double antigen sandwich ELISA quantitative assay that showed1009.66U/L,886.79U/L,33ng/L, respectively. The of these yolk antibodies was safe forapplication after two safety test were examined in mice and asepsis in agar plate.2. The diarrhea outbreaks happened in four pig farms in Cheng-Xian (one farm), inMian-Xian (one farm) and in Xi-An Shanxi Shiyang (Group) Co. Ltd (two farms) on Marchand April2014. Total388piglets were showed similar clinical symptoms.40piglets weredead. All cases have been confirmed as a PED infection by laboratory diagnosis. The PEDpiglets were drenched through oral with egg yolk antibodies (liquid form) in PEDimmediately for examining the prevention and treatment of diarrhea. The results showed thatthe cure rates of diarrhea piglets in Cheng-Xian, Mian-Xian and Shiyang (Group) one farm (A)were100%,90.48%and100%, respectively. The prevention trial has been examined inShiyang (Group) one farm (B). The results showed that the morbidities of diarrhea pigletswith and without treatment were43.99%and74.8%. Their mortalities with and withouttreatment were22.0%and40.0%, respectively. These data indicated that the yolk antibodiesof PED-TGE-RV were an effective for prevention and treatment of diarrhea in piglets. |
