Pelodiscus sinensis, commonly known as soft-shelled turtle, is an ancient,sub-aquatic reptile which bears tremendous research and economic value. the scale ofsoft-shelled turtle cultivation is booming and their annual production is substantial.Starting from the reality of the aquaculture industry in China and based on the existingpractial formula of soft-shelled turtle feeds, this paper conducts an experimentalresearch wich compares the impact of different feeds processing techniques on thegrowth and the physiological and biochemical index of soft-shelled turtles. The mainresults are as follows:1. Adding6%corn gluten meal to the regular feeds of Pelodiscus sinensis which servesas the main source of the feed pigment. Some three months later, skin samples fromdifferent parts of Pelodiscus sinensis are collected to measure the amount of TotalCarotenoids and Lutein. The results indicate that Pelodiscus sinensis are able toabsorb and deposit cetain amount of Carotenoids and Lutein which accounts for theyellow color in their skin; Carotenoids and Lutein are mainly precipitated in theirback skin; the amount of Total Carotenoids is slightly higher than Lutein in thesamples. This proves the feasibility of adding corn gluten meal to provides pigmentin the feeds of soft-shelled turtles.2. According to the test of Pelodiscus sinensis feed nutritional needs,with6%cornprotein powder as pigment raw materials reasonable preparation theexperimental feeds are divided into group A, B, C, D. These feeds are thenprocessed into extruded feeds through the bulking machine. After3months:(1) Group D exhibits obvious growth advantage which also has little discrepancywith the control group. And in terms with the availability of the feeds, group Denjoys the highest and its feed conversion ratio is lower.(2) As a kind of extruded feeds formula, group D excels in promoting proteinutilization compared with other groups and the control group. (3) The amount of hemoglobin is higher in group D, which demonstrates that thefeeds of group D have efficiently promoted the growth of the soft-shelled turtlesand impoved their resistance to diseases.(4) Compared with other groups, group A exhibits higher SOD activity, indicatinggroup A has a good effect in strengthening the soft-shelled turtles’ resistance todiseases.SummaryBy adding6%corn protein powder on the test of Pelodiscus sinensis skin coloringeffect and on the basis of the control group (powder group) and four sets of feed ongrowth performance, feed coefficient, aminotransferase and immune index results, testgroup and control group. Results the extruded material using powder cultured Trionyxsinensis. Note the use of expanded feed farmed Pelodiscus is feasible, the Pelodiscus sinensis bulking materials also need to provide the reliable basis for promotion in thefurther study.
