Comparing The Growth Habits And Fruiting Habits About Luoyang Part Of Precocious Walnut Varieties

In order to select the suitable varieties spreading in Luoyang region, based onsurveys of the used varieties, seven precocious walnut(Xiang Ling, Liao He1,Xinjiang Baopi, Qiang Te Le, Zuan Shi, Zhongnong Duanzhi, Zhong Lin5), four-year-old, cultivated in Luoyang Nongfeng Agricultural Technology Limited Companywere used in the research. With outdoor investigations and laboratory experiments, thegrowth habits, fruiting habits and the influences of different pruning ways wereinvestigated. After the Principle Component Analysis of the data, the main results areas follows:1. Five varieties, Xiang Ling, Liao He1, Xinjiang Baopi, Qiang Te Le and ZuanShi, are the male types first in luoyang. Zhongnong Duanzhi and Zhong Lin5are thefemale first.2. The height of them is between4.51m to5.30m, with the highest of5.30m byZhongnong Duanzhi and Xinjiang Baopi. Liao He1with the height of4.51m, is thelowest. The canopy is between4.29m to4.67m. The limbs of Zhongnong Duanzhi andXinjiang Baopi are the thickest and the Xiang Ling the thinnest,7.682cm.3. As investigated, the seven varieties of precocious walnut mainly bore on theshort branches. The percentage of the short branches of Zhongnong Duanzhi is thehighest with59.45%. The fruit number of each fruit branch of Zhongnong Duanzhi is1.78, obviously larger than the other six varieties. The thickness of the fruit branchesof Zhongnong Duanzhi is0.810cm, larger than other varieties dramatically. There isnot obvious difference among them on the rate of fruit branches, between69.17%to76.19%.4. The length of the green fruit is between4.662cm to5.626cm, and the width isbetween4.249cm to4.991cm. The thickness of the green husk is between0.421cm to0.587cm and the fresh fruit weight is between42.911g to63.535g. Xinjiang Baopi isthe representative of the maximum. The longitudinal diameter of the nuts is between 3.514cm to4.273cm, and the transverse diameter between3.597cm to3.958cm, thethickness of the shell between1.04mm to1.14mm. The nuts and nutlets of XinjiangBaopi are the heaviest, with14.047g of the nut and7.876g of the nutlet, dramaticallyhigher than the other six varieties. The kernel percent of Zhong Lin5is the highest,60.20%.5. The frost-resistance of the seven varieties, from strong to weak are XinjiangBaopi, Zhongnong Duanzhi, Qiang Te Le, Zuan Shi, Xiang Ling, Liao He1, ZhongLin5. The disease-resistance, from strong to weak, are Zhongnong Duanzhi, Zuan Shi,Xiang Ling, Xinjiang Baopi, Liao He1, Zhong Lin5, Qiang Te Le.6. Principle component analysis of the32properties indexes of the seven walnutvarieties, the sequence of the seven varieties is Zhongnong Duanzhi, Qiang Te Le,Xinjiang Baopi, Liao He1, Zhong Lin5, Xiang Ling, Zuan Shi, and the scores ofZhongnong Duanzhi, Qiang Te Le are positive. So, Zhongnong Duanzhi and Qiang TeLe are the suitable varieties spreading in Luoyang region.
