In recent years, the problem of invasion of alien organisms caused by the ballast water of oceangoing vessels has aroused great concern around the world. The ballast water which is against the international convention is prohibited to discharge in port by International Maritime Organization (IMO), so study on the ballast water processing technology is urgent. With the support of national plan, We have carrying out physical research of ballast water purification processing technology. Filtration is one of the key technologies. Filter is the core component of filtering technology. The service life of filtration equipment is determined by the filter’s regeneration property. In consideration of this, the aim of this dissertation is to establish the evaluation method of ballast water filter regeneration rate, thus providing a theoretical basis for the rational use of filter.For the filter regeneration rates evaluament of ship’s ballast water filtration equipment, six aspects were studied as follows:(1)This dissertation reviewed the basic filtration theory and the basic theory of filtration equation, derived filter pressure drop characteristics curve equation, and discussed sintered metal filter of the filtering mechanism and filtration filter process.(2)Studied the filtration resistance of filter resistance characteristics, and subdivided the composition of the pressure drop of filter cake, and studied the mechanism of gas-assisted liquid regeneration of sintered metal filter.(3)This dissertation proposed and designed a test method which can objectively directly reflect the filter regeneration to estabilish regeneration evaluation benchmark.(4)This dissertation analyzed the feasibilities of evaluation of various existing regeneration online application in the Ballast water treatment equipment, compared these evaluation methods, and determined the reliability of these evaluation methods by laboratory experiments.(5)Aiming at the limitation of the existing filter regeneration evaluation in ballast water filters on online evaluation, this dissertation verified the recoil peak pressure difference method can reliably evaluate the regeneration of filter condition by analysis and experiment comparison.(6)Designed a real-time evaluation system using recoil peak pressure difference method to evaluate the regeneration of ballast water filtration equipment filter, and implemented it. By the ashore and real ship tests, obtained the best evaluation method of evaluating filter regeneration rate.
