Threaded connection is the major way of automobile wheel hub connection. It has a decisive impact on the vehicle running safety performance. Bolt axial pre-tightening force is an important index for hub bolt safety performance. In this paper, the lack of bolt preload phenomenon in the actual production process is studied from the theoretical analysis, finite element simulation and experimental verification aspects. The following work has been carried out.Analysis the basic concept of threaded connection and threaded connection way of several main tighten. Analysis the torque control, angle control, torque Angle control and the advantages and disadvantages of bolt elongation method. On the basis of the theory of mechanics, the friction coefficient and the calculation formula of axial pre-tightening force are derived. Analysis of different location of axial pre-tightening force of the friction coefficient are studied. According to the basic theory of finite element, analyzes the impact of different factors on the aluminum alloy wheel hub bolt axial pre-tightening force. The aluminum alloy wheel hub bolt pre-tightening related basic theory of finite element are summarized. Using 3D drawing software Solidworks model of bolt preload for 3D modeling. Using ABAQUS finite element analysis software to pretreat the preloaded model calculation and post-processing. The stress distribution diagram of pre tightening bolt and nut is obtained.According to the ABAQUS finite element analysis, the relationship between the tightening bolt preload and the preload torque is obtained. The influence of the elastic modulus, the friction coefficient, the friction coefficient, the preload torque and the yield strength on the size of the axial preload were analyzed. The bolt preload of aluminum alloy wheel hub was tested. The influence factors such as the coefficient of friction, the friction coefficient of the screw thread, and the hardness of the wheel hub are analyzed. The test results and the finite element simulation results are compared and analyzed.
