With the rapid development of nuclear power industry and the reform of energy structure is being deepened constantly, more and more large-capacity nuclear power units are put into operation. Improving the reliability and running stability of nuclear power unit are the goals of the nuclear power enterprises. The unit capacity of the nuclear power units which are running or will be put into operation is quite large. Failures of nuclear power unit seriously affect the safety, or even bring calamities and heavy losses in severe cases, therefore, in order to keep safety and stable operation of the nuclear power plant, enhancing the condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of nuclear power unit is really significant.The reactor coolant system is one of the important parts in nuclear island, the safety and stable operation of the system is the basis to keep the nuclear power unit running normally. As the nuclear power technology innovates continually, it is urgent to research the method of fault analysis and diagnosis technology for reactor coolant system,which is a complex and broader system.The main works of this paper are as following:(1) Illustrate the structure and characteristics of the reactor coolant system in nuclear power unit,.Analyze and discuss the collections and indicators for monitoring parameters of the reactor coolant system and its device with important function.(2) Make the detailed mechanism analysis on the main failure mode of reactor coolant system. Make a study on the reasons of four kinds of faults, then analyzed the faults and the consequences, established the analyzing of FMEA.(3) Research on the diagnosis on faults of reactor coolant system. Analyze the common methods based on data mining of fault diagnosis and introduce the advantages and disadvantages of each method. Establish fault diagnosis model with ID3 decision tree algorithm put forward the early warning and diagnosis process and establish the mathematical model. Integrate the results of the failure mechnism analysis into the process of generating the decision tree in order to optimize the rules of fault identication.(4) Put forward process of diagnosis and simulation verification for reactor coolant system, complete the overall design of failure diagnosis system for early warning and diagnosis of faults on reactor coolant system.
