Stay cable, which has advantages of strong bearing force and easily fatigue, plays a very important role in all kinds of cable-stayed bridges. Fracture causing by corrosion fatigue is the main reason of the replacement of stay cable. Water and moisture invasion generally causes corrosion and fatigue fracture of wires. Therefore, in a sense, to guarantee the cable is not corroded by the water or detect the degree of corrosion and improve in time is very necessary. Dense water experiment was designed to determine the performance of water cannot penetrate the measures of anticorrosion and waterproof of anchor and it can operate well when mechanical and temperature effect accelerate aging.This paper mainly discusses that the stay cables in the bridge is easily corroded under adverse condition. Based on the study of the related literature at home and abroad, we address the experiment of water density fatigue of stay cable and determine some parameters. We also use the Siemens PLC program and compare with the domestic and foreign relevant norms. From the objective and practical application test, the main contents include five parts as follows:(1) This paper introduces the research background, significance and present situation at home and abroad; (2) This paper introduces the main part of the testing system; the structure and characteristics of Siemens PLC combined with experiment on systematic electronic control theory; (3) The preparations, the requirements of mechanical and temperature aging, the composition of electric parts and some parameters setting are given in this paper. (4) Experiment on test system, including test steps, specimen description, test procedure, the charts, curves and possible breakdown from later data reduction, etc; (5) Summary of the test results of the testing system and look forward to the future optimization.
