With the rapid development of radar technology and the guided weapons technology, The living environment of the aircraft, ships, tanks and other weapons platforms on the battlefield is worsening. So, the needs of developing Stealth weapons is increasingly urgent. But he most important prerequisite for developing stealth weapons is accurate calculation of weapons’ radar cross section. So how to quickly and easily obtain the radar cross section will have important significance. With the development of computer technology, computer software simulation target’s radar cross section of its low cost, short time and with accurate results, to overcome the actual measurement. Computer simulation software has become the best choice to get the target’s radar cross section. Computer simulation software to calculate the radar cross section of the mast column with dielectric multilayer will be used in this article.Mast Column is located at the top of the submarine, where as the first to be detected by radar, it is logical to add outer dielectric layer for incognito treatment. For this socket multi-media mast column, because of its enormous size and geometry of power due to the influence of the dielectric layer, so that the scattering mechanism complex and usually difficult to obtain its simulation calculations of the radar cross section. Therefore, the development of simulation software for multi-media radar cross section of the mast column will have a huge engineering significance.In this paper, to calculate the radar cross section of the multilayer dielectric masts column, we collect a variety of common calculation methods. By comparing the characteristics of different algorithms, the method of moments and physical optics hybrid algorithm is finally chose to calculate the multilayer dielectric mast column’s radar cross section. Then, the paper describes the method of moments and physical optics, and verify the correctness of two methods by way of example. The mast multilayer dielectric cylinder model is established and based on the characteristics of hybrid algorithm the model is mixed-split, on this basis, we deduced the method of moments and physical optics hybrid algorithm formula. Then using Microsoft Visual C ++ to write the software to calculate the mast column multilayer dielectric radar cross section. With this software, the efficient and accurate characteristic in method of moments and physical optics hybrid algorithm is verified. Finally, the multilayer dielectric masts column’s radar cross section in the "fixed angle of incidence, frequency scanning radar" condition is calculated, as well as "fixed-frequency radar, scanning the incident angle" condition. And the results obtained from actual measurement verify the validity of the software, achieving the desired purpose.
