Today in the field of navigation, marine engine room simulator has been one of the necessary equipments for the education and training of seamen, while the diesel engine model is one of the cores in the design and development of marine engine room simulator. At present, marine engine room simulators mostly take RTA type and MC type traditional mechanically-controlled diesel engine as Parent Engine, with the spread of electronically controlled diesel engine; it will serve as the main engine of a new generation of marine engine room simulator. Therefore, studying deeply on the mathematical modeling, simulation and three-dimensional interactive of electronically controlled diesel engine and improving the accuracy and simulation speed of model, can provide evidence for the research of the new generation of marine engine room simulator.In this dissertation, MAN 12K98ME-C electronically controlled diesel engine is taken into study. Firstly, analysis the composition and principles of the electronic control system and common rail system, and introduce the model boundaries and modeling methods; Secondly, basing on the basic principles of volumetric model, the volumetric diesel engine model and its common rail system model are established in modularized methods. And the Matlab/Simulink software is chosen to be the simulation tool, and the results of simulation are verified under different load. Thirdly, on the basis of the simulation researches of the diesel engine and its common rail system, C# programming language is chosen to design a human-computer interaction simulator of system based on.NET platform, realizing the control of main engine and its common rail system and monitoring of the important parameters related to main engine. Finally, after the accomplishment of the model program, study on the three-dimensional interactive of electronically controlled diesel engine based on the virtual reality platform, and use UDP protocol to realize data sharing.The simulation results of this thesis show that the models built in this paper can accurately predict the parameters of the diesel engine and its common rail system. And the models and the initial parameters are selected correctly. The simulation results of indicator diagrams and so on, are in accordance with the actual performances of the system. The key parameters of the results have little margin of errors, which can be used to analyze and predict the characteristic parameters, and has guiding significance for establishment of the control strategy, initial MAP formulation as well as the last parameter calibration. The model and software of the electronically controlled diesel engine part and its common rail system can meet the simulation and training requirements to marine simulator with good simulation accuracy and good real-time performance, and have been used in actual marine engine room simulator.
