Turbine simulator as an important teaching and training equipment in maritime university, has been widely used in modern turbine teaching and training work and plays an important role in maritime personnel training. Turbine simulator hardware is in direct contact with equipment operators, which can simulate various real systems on ships. By pressing a button, turning the knob, operating the handler, marine engineer can interact with the turbine simulator, finally achieve good ship operating simulation results, and the operations signals are just collected by the underlying data acquisition and data processing boards. The simulator runs well depending on the real-time and reliable data, so before the entire simulator can be in use, how to test the hardware system easily, quickly and efficiently becomes very necessary.To solve the above problem, develop a WiFi-based turbine simulator handle test system with the embedded technology, the network technology and the wireless WiFi communication technology. The system take the turbine simulator underlying hardware subsystems boards as the controlled object, and take the commonly used turbine simulator oil separator hardware board as an case, design it’s hardware circuit with wireless communication function. Combining the Freescale produced FRDM-KL43Z core control board with the WiFi communication module and ethernet communication module as the test system hardware central processing platform. In terms of software, using the software development kit as the micro controller underlying drivers; To improve the reliability and real-time of the test system, transplant the μC/OS-Ⅱ embedded operating system into the MCU; Meanwhile, on the host machine which is configured with JAVA environment using the cross-platform software QT to develop the specialized andriod mobile phone APP for test the system, completing the simulation for each simulator board GUI interface and internal logic functions, increasing the intuitiveness and ease during the final system test. When using the test system, the hardware central processing platform act as an adaptation layer, which contains a variety of test information of the simulator underlying device board, the operator uses the specified designed mobile phone APP to send control instruction via wireless WiFi, after parsing the instruction, act on the appropriate controlled object, then you can fully complete testing the simulator underlying subsystems equipment board. By commissioning experiments, the WiFi-based turbine simulator handle test system has an advantage of low power consumption, ease of use, high reliability, one can finish the entire system test accurately and efficiently at any location in the engine room where the turbine simulator place and also increase the test experience. This system can also supply some reference value for the turbine simulator at the aspect of communication and hardware layout in the future.
