With social development and rapid urbanizing, environmental problems and ecological safety are focused by people, in order to protect our environment, green infrastructures planning are proposed, aiming to provide a more sustainably developmental method for our landscape design and environmental protection. Massive patches of mountain, as a natural source and center of green infrastructures in Wuhan, are able to offer a important security barrier to ecological security of this city. As a fact that Three-Dimensional Vegetation Quantity can better reflect Living Vegetation Volume and ecological benefit of mountain compared to Two-Dimensional Vegetation Quantity, so Three-Dimensional Vegetation Quantity is a good method of evaluating the role played by mountain in ecological security.In this research, through analyzing Three-Dimensional Vegetation Quantity, we built a evaluating system, selected the mountains that can be used as green infrastructures and based the mountain location divided it into several research areas. The results are as follows:(1) Based on TM5, the order of correlation between Vegetation Index and Leaf Area Index is:RVI> NDVI> MSAVI> GNDVI> DVI> PVI, all these correlations are more than 0.6.(2)The best regression model of Vegetation Index which be based on TM5 remote sensing image depending on Leaf Area Index is:LAI=0.012RVI3-0.20RVI2+2.061RVI-0.508, R2is equal to 0.726.(3) The order of the contribution of land-use types to Vegetation Quantity is:farm mountain, greenbelt, hill, xiaozhangdai. The order of LAI for all kinds of land-use types is: hill, mountain, farm, greenbelt, water fluctuation zone.(4) There were 65 mountains selected as the green infrastructures hub, divided into 14 hub areas containing 4 patches,3 belts and 3 points.(5) The total Vegetation Quantity and VQ per unit area of mountain within hub, hub area and buffer area at distance 200m,500m and 1000m to hub area were calculated, then extensibility of Vegetation Quantity in hub area were calculated based on the variation of Vegetation Quantity in buffer area.
