With the rapid development of industry, as the most important transmission system, gears have been used widely. Although, as a matter of fact, the involute gears should be enhanced. The contact strength needs further improvement. The essay focuses on the building of a high-order-contact gear, of which the contact strength and bending strength surpass the involute gears. Thanks of the highly developed computer technology, an easy and effective way, the finite-element method has been used to deal with various complicated issues. Finite-element method not only increases reliability of design, optimizes the structural, shortens the design cycle and decreases design cost, but also help the competence of a product.Based on the certain gear profile, the normal various gears have been studied for all kinds of performances, then, according to the study, the profile is changed to attain higher performance. This paper tries to find the qualifications of high-performance gears, and, on the foundation of these qualifications, build the equations of the high-performance gear. This paper is a reverse study based on Hertz to find the way to build a high-order-close gear. Through ANSYS, the contact strength and bending strength of high-order gears are analyzed. Based on mechanics of material, contact mechanics, Principal of Mechanical Design and Infinite-Element-Method, the bending strength and contact strength are studied in the paper. A comparison is made between involute gears and high-order gears about bending strength and contact strength, in order to test the accuracy of theoretical calculation.Via the study of high-order-close gears, the experience of analysis and treatment of issue is accumulated, and the basic data collected. By the means of the adoption of design theory and advanced software, the base is founded for further application.
