Since nuclear has been discovered, it has been widely used in the area of industry, agriculture, medicine and other fields at present. With the wide application of nuclear, the resulting ionizing radiation(hereinafter referred to as radiation) is receiving more attentions. In the last century, the application of nuclear in the field of war and military, generated a certain influence in environment. Countries began to develop radiation monitoring technology. In order to control the changes of radiation environment, a complete set of radiation environment monitoring system has been established in our country. Shandong, as a coastal province with large proportion of population and economy of the whole country, two nuclear power plants are currently under construction, and nuclear technology application project is more than other provinces in China. Radiation environmental management and monitoring capacity building have already been conducted. The variation analysis of radiation environment quality in Shandong is contributed to the improvement of people’s life, development of economy and industrial distribution. On the basis of relevant research at home and abroad, In the view of the change of radiation environmental quality in Shandong Province. In this essay, data were collected from 2010 to 2014, reflecting the radiation environmental monitoring data of air, water and soil in Shandong Province. Statistics collected in this investigation also include the monitoring data of the third nuclear test by north Korea during the emergency and the fukushima nuclear accident emergency, After that, data classification, longitudinal and horizontal comparison were conducted, represented by the State monitoring sites data, as to reveal the time variation and space distribution of radiation environment quality. The results are as follows:(1) From 2010 to 2014, the time variation of y radiation air absorbed dose rate collected from State monitoring sites data, was stable and maintained at a normal environmental level. Interannual variability of the total radioactivity of fallout and aerosol samples was not obvious, and they were all at the same level with historical data, showing that atmospheric radiation environmental quality was stable. Affected by geological conditions, the space distribution of y radiation air absorbed dose rate was uneven, the data in Qingdao was higher than that in Jinan from a whole perspective. Affected by air quality factors, the space distribution of the total radioactivity of fallout and aerosol samples was uneven, the data in Jinan was higher than that in Qingdao as a whole.(2) From 2010 to 2014, there were no significant changes in Nature radionuclide U、Ra-226、K-40 of surface water samples from the Yellow River (luokou), Xiaoqing River (lixia pavilion) and Qingdao Jihongtan Reservoir, and U、Th、Ra-226 from sea sample of Huanghai Shazikou bay. Artificial radionuclide Sr-90、Cs-137 in all the water samples were stable. Therefore, the total radioactivity of surface water samples was relatively stable. The total radioactivity in drinking water and artificial radionuclide in seawater can satisfy the requirements of relevant standards.A horizontal contrast shows that, artificial radionuclide and the total radioactivity of surface water samples were both at the same level. The activity concentration of natural radionuclide were also at the same level, However, there were differences in geological conditions of river basin (sea) and the sampling points, leading to the different data among different samples.(3) From 2010 to 2014, as a result of fixed sources, there were no significant changes in Nature radionuclide U/Th、Ra-226、K-40 of Shandong Province radiation environment management station, Qingdao Zhongshan park and Qingdao Nanyao. There was a trend of decrease of Sr-90 from Shandong Province radiation environment management station samples, and a trend of increase of Cs-137 from Qingdao Zhongshan park samples, due to wind, precipitation and biological effects on soil. There were slightly differences according to a lateral comparison of natural and artificial radionuclide in soil samples from three sites, but the same source made a same level.(4) During the emergency monitoring of the third north Korean nuclear test in 2013, aerosol samples, gas iodine samples and fallout samples in Shandong were collected, and no nuclear fission products were detected. It showed that the nuclear test had no significant effect on the Shandong air radiation environment. During Japan’s fukushima nuclear emergency in 2011, part of samples in Shandong have been detected, and the results showed that artificial radionuclide existed, but the content was relatively low, but due to the effect of diffusion and dilution of the atmosphere and oceans, the accident did not cause serious impact on Shandong radiation environment.
