Software is the kernel of the nondestructive detection system. Fist of all, the software plays a role in system control, which ensures the efficiency and accuracy in testing process. Meanwhile, the software is the human- computer interface, which is the bridge between user’s requirment and system function. It can be said that the software directly determines the function and performance of the system.The Detection software is trend to realize automatic and intelligent nondestructive testing. In this paper, a detection software is designed and developed for mutil-channel, automatic and intelligent detection in thick-wall pipes, which is based on the testing method and device designed by research group.In this paper, the idea of layered design is used to reinforce the ability of data management and software interchange. The software of the thick-walled pipe is divided into the interface layer, data, equipment and communication layer. And the software is more esay to divieded beween functions. Meanwhile, the functions of setting ultrasonic nondestructive testing parameters, adjusting motion module, setting ultrasonic nondestructive scan parameters and displaying the A-scan graphics and scanning results graphics are achived, which is proved by detection test.In this paper, the method of data transmission and display is discussed, which optimizes the transmission and display of data on 12 channels. The management of user and pipes are designed to achieve intelligent nondestructive testing. The information of pipes, parameters of detecton and scanning are saved in database. These data will be extractd when the operating staff choose a kind of pipe in database. And the system is going to detect the pipe without inputting the parameter. Offset-distance optimized module and the assistant software designed for simulating the wave in pipes based on sound ray are designed for simplifying work of NDT personnel. These modules are aimed for intelligent nondestructive testing in adjusting parameters. In this paper, 3D display method of pipe-detection image is studied, which is following the trend of software development. 3D display method based on OpenGL could make the detection results more intuitive, and simplify the process of modeling.
