Supercapacitor, also known as electrochemical capacitor,is a new type of energystorage devices having significant advantages. It has high energy density, high powerdensity, longcycle lifecharacteristics,and has good application prospects in the fieldof mobile communications, information technology, aerospace and defensetechnology, electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles. It’s widely used and studied ofCo3O4as electrode materials for supercapacitor because of its high theoretical specificcapacity.This paper reviews characteristic, applications of supercapacitors and recentresearch progress about super capacitor electrode materials. Meanwhile, Co3O4aresuccessfully synthesized by precipitation methods and studying the influence ofsynthesis conditions on the electrochemical performance. SEM, XRD and othermeans were used to analyze the material morphology, cyclic voltammetry,charge-discharge cycles and alternating current impedance and other means were usedto characterize the electrochemical properties of the material. Meanwhile, the paperused chemically compounding method to prepared NiO/Co3O4supercapacitorelectrode material and studied the impact of different doping ratio on the capacitorperformance and cycle performance on the compound material. The main contents areas follows:1. Co3O4materials are successfully synthesized by chemical precipitationmethods. The microstructures、morphologies and electrochemical performance ofthese materials were investigated. And studying the influence of glucose on theelectrochemical performance.2. Study the impact of precursor solution reaction time on Co3O4material’selectrochemical performance.3. Study the impact of different cobalt sources on Co3O4material’selectrochemical performance.4. NiO/Co3O4composite electrode material are successfully synthesized by afacile chemical coprecipitation method. Use SEM and BET specific surface area testto study the morphology of the composites. Use electrochemical testing method tostudy capacitor performance and cycle performance of the composites. Compare theelectrochemical performance of different NiO/Co3O4composite prepared by doping ratio.
