Prestressed beam string structure is a new type of prestressed steel structure in therecent few decades. Because of its good mechanical performance and strong spanningcapacity, it is widely used in large-span structures and Baoji swimming and diving hall,one of the main stadiums of the15thprovincial games in Shaanxi, uses a new-type beamstring structure whose bottom chords are spatial hyperbolic prestressed double cables.This new-type beam string structure is very different from the traditional ones, sothe past research on beam string structures can’t apply to this case. In order to instruct thestructural design and construction, as well as to know the structural deformation capacityand mechanical performance, this paper tells a reduced-scale1:5experimental modelwhich was loaded by prestressing force, a series of static load cases and ultimate load,meanwhile the structural deformation and members’ stress are observed and measured.Then a nonlinear analyzing model is established by software ANSYS, in which theprestress is simulated by equal temperature load. Based on the above, the load cases andultimate load of the experimental model are simulated.Comparing the experimental results with the finite element results, we see that thenew-type beam string structure has good mechanical performance and high safety reserveand the finite element analysis is effective.In order to know more of the mechanical performance, a series of parametric analysisis conducted and the displacement and internal force are analyzed by statistic, from whichwe see the influence on the structural deformation capacity and mechanical performanceof different parameters, and lay the foundation for further designation and construction.
