In the traditional design method of subway station structure, the design loads aremainly static loads, including structure weight, water pressure,earth pressure andground overload. In structurecalculation, take the whole structure and singlecomponentunder the worst condition. In the traditional design method of subwaystationstructure, it is usually thought, the earthquake action doesn’t affect the subwaystation,because it is generally considered the static load is larger and in the design thesafety factor is often taken quite high. Therefore, the seismic calculation is usuallyneglected in the design.After the underground structure suffering severe damage in the Kobe earthquakein Japan, the necessity of seismic design of underground structure is realized in theindustry. The state is going to issue a new, specificcode for subway station, called“Code for Seismic Design of Urban Rail Transit Structures”. Based on this code, in thepaper, calculate and analyze the seismic design of subway station upon responsedisplacement method, and compare the calculation result with the traditional method toanalyze and research the influence of subway station by earthquake action.In this paper, for the traditional design method of subway station, research andsummarize the design method which take static load as main loadbased on existingcode,put forward my own views on some undecided hot issues in design field. For theseismic design of subway station, research and summarize the response displacementmethod which is recommended by the coming “Code for Seismic Design of Urban RailTransit Structures”.Then choose three typical subway stations as examples, design and calculatesubway stations separately in traditional method and the method which consideredseismic action. Compare the calculation result, analyze and research the influence ofseismic action to subway station. The main conclusions areas follows:the standardstation in the region of low intensity, high groundwater level and soft soil, isrepresented by PangJin Road Station, Line4of Suzhou Subway, its seismic calculationbased on the response displacement method haslittle impact,comparing with thetraditional design method, which loads are mainly static loads. The standard stations inthe region of high intensity, low groundwater level and multi-layer soil (includingcohesive soil, silt, sand and gravel soil), is represented by XiaoJiaHe Station, Line16of Beijing Subway. Its seismic calculation based on the response displacement methodhas great impact, comparing with the traditional design method, which loads are mainly static loads. Transfer jointstation in the region of highintensity (particularfortification), low groundwater level and complex geological condition(the upper partis a lens made of cohesive soil with sand, the lower part is a lens of sand with cohesivesoil),is represented by Bowuguan Station, Line1of Harbin Subway. Its seismiccalculation based on the response displacement method in the new code, hasgreatimpact,comparing with the traditional design method,Seismic analysis in this paper is mainly based on the response displacementmethod, which is the principalseismic calculation method. This method possessesadvantages of clear theory and reliable outcomes. To a certain extent, it can make thedesign of subway station more sophisticated, more reliable and safer.
