Long-range, high-precision and quick-strike is always goal of long-range strikeweapon. As the first generation, Ballistic Missile was undoubtedly very important andoutstanding in the history of long-range strike weapon. However, with ever-changingpurpose of combat mission and ever-growing demand of combat target in modernwarfare, the Hypersonic Vehicle which is the substitution for Ballistic Missile graduallybecome a new generation of the long-rang strike-weapon.A reasonable trajectory design is a prerequisite for hypersonic vehicle s to completetask. The flight program, trajectory design and range optimization of a RBCC-poweredhypersonic vehicle will be studied in this paper. Details are as follows:First, This paper is based on hypersonic vehicle with RBCC engine which can helpto extend the range of hypersonic vehicle. And this paper will give the boost-poweredglide flight program and flight time sequence of the RBCC-powered hypersonic vehicle.Then, based on flight time sequence, the vehicle trajectory will be divided into severalsegments and this paper will give the mathematical models and the trajectory designmethods of each fight segment.Second, considering the uncertainty of thrust and impulse of RBCC engine(namelythe interaction of the engine status and the vehicle flight status), this paper will give thehypersonic vehicle’s order of attack angle by theoretical derivation based on theexperimental data of the RBCC engine. And then, this paper will propose a trajectorydesign method which can keep the RBCC engine working in high per formance for along time.Third, based on the boost-powered-glide flight program of the RBCC-poweredhypersonic vehicle, this paper will analyze the best switch conditions of RBCC engine,and will design and simulate each phase of the flight trajectory of hypersonic vehicle.Then, by comparing to the boost-glide flight program, the maximum range of vehicleand RBCC engine’s contribution to it will be studied.Finally, some studies will be done to optimize the RBCC-powered hypersonicvehicle’s range. In this part, segmented optimization models of range will be establishedbased on the direct targeting and SQP algorithm. And then this paper will establish thewhole trajectory optimization model of range based on the hp-adapted Gausspseudo-spectral method. At last, this paper will find out the optimization range(also thebest one) by comparing the segmented optimization range with the whole trajectoryoptimization range.
