Nowadays, in the EOR process, flooding by using surfactants has become an effective method for enhancing oil recovery. Therefore, a deeper investigation of interfacial properties of surfactant at the oil-water interface is crucial for understanding the workings of surfactant systems from funda mental interests of colloid and interface science, as well as practical app lications.Firstly, the main content of article is to study the influence of the surfactants on the interfacial tension between oil and water. The measurement method of oil- water interface has a lot of kinds. The experiment methods interfacial tension between diesel oil and water to adopt pendant drop method, and obtained the surfactant has certain influe nce that it is reduce the interfacial tension on interfacial tension through analysis the expe riment results. However, the influence degree of the interfacial tension is signi ficant on account of the different of the HLB value. At the same time, the concentration of surfactant also has certain effect to the oil- water interfacial tension.The emulsion’s state is not stable when we prepare in the laboratory. Although the process of preparing emulsion has high development, the properties of crude oil changes over time, the previous method on longer have ideal result. By a large number of repeated trials, we got the suitable conditions for preparing the emulsion, such as the temperature, the mixing intensity, and the mixing time. And we had made more stable W/O type emulsion in these suitable conditions. In all the progress, the surfactant is one of the indispensable substances in the preparation of the stable emulsion.It is impor tant reason that surfactant has special molecular structure to make reduce the interfacial tension be tween oil and water. And surfactant also has impor tant status in the preparation of emulsion. To the special molecular structure, it produces certain strength of the interfacial film through surfactant gather in the oil- water interface. And the existence of the interfacial film is a ke y factor to de termine whether emulsion stability.
