Through the collection and analysis of basic data, and combined with the result of the survey of field investigation in Fushun thermal power plant and its ash field, by using analytical method at the periods of the construction period, operation period and after the service period, the specific results were as follows:In the power plant, during the construction the construction plant, the effective environmental management and pollution prevention measures were adopt in the construction plant, which can effectively avoid the influence of the domestic wastewater and industrial wastewater on groundwater. Operating period: the strict seepage-proofing measures would be carried out in order to prevent the material or sewage from entering the groundwater environment. Under the normal condition, there would be little impact on the groundwater environment. But at accident conditions, in the case of small probability, when the pollution accident happened, it would cause certain influence to the groundwater environment, the pollution plume only distributed within the plant. After the expiry of the service, each production and auxiliary device would be gradually removed, this would not pollute the groundwater, no more.This project yard would be located in the west Fushun west open pit mine. The mine had been mining for many years, negative terrain. and influenced by the mine water drainage, groundwater would flow into the mine. According to the investigation, after the pit stopped mining, it would continue pumping, so as not to cause water level recovery. After the completion of power plant, the groundwater from the mine drainage was mainly used for power supply plants, paper mills, and other users. It would be only a small amount of water, which would be into outside. Under the condition of normal working condition, the ash field of seepage will not affect mine drainage water. The impermeable layer would leak under the accident condition. The leachate from the ash field would infiltrate into the mine, but difficultly affect peripheral groundwater.
