One of the important aspects of environmental pollution is oily wastewater, the influence of current environment is very serious, therefore we can neither ignore nor escape the problem of oily sewage treatment. In this thesis, experimental study of particular oily sewage is carried on by coalescence treatment apparatus based on theory and experiment, the main work are as follows:(1) The velocity equation of droplet up floating and oil removal efficiency equation are given, the process and mechanism of coalescence separation are expounded, the separation performance factors which affecting filter type coalescence apparatus are analyzed.(2) Through the microstructure test of two chosen materials, it is found that the glass fiber has relatively smooth surface and the stainless steel fiber has rough surface structure. Through the contact angle test, it is found that both of the two materials are lipophilic and hydrophobic. The design of filter structure is pleated and the result of the skeleton strength check meet the requirement.(3) Experimental study of two different filters is carried on by oily sewage coalescence apparatus, the result shows that both the increasing of flow rate and inlet oil content can increase inlet pressure, but the flow rate is the dominant factor. After the contrast experiment of modified polyacrylonitrile fiber wire-wound filter, the glass fiber and stainless steel fiber filter, it is found that under the same conditions, without emulsifier, the outlet oil content of stainless steel fiber filter is the lowest, its treatment effect is the best of the three filters, the outlet oil content of glass fiber filter is a little higher, its treatment effect is slightly poor, the outlet oil content of modified polyacrylonitrile fiber wire-wound filter is the highest, its treatment effect is the worst of the three filters. When dealing with different oils, coalescence performance of three filters basically remain unchanged. After adding the emulsifier, it is found that outlet oil content of three kinds of filters increase rapidly, coalescence performance inordinately reduced, thus the three filters are more suitable for processing oily sewage which after demulsification.
