Vegetation as a core component of the ecosystem, it play an important role in maintaining the ecosystem’s material flows, keeping energy cycle, maintaining the integrity of the food chain and stocking water.A series of environmental problems which caused by the rapid economic development intensified.If we want to restore the ecological environment,we must start from the core of it, which is revegetation.If we want to restore the vegetation,we must study how to recovery revegetation potential firstly.In this paper,Use Landsat image data,digital model(DEM),geographic data,meteorological data and statiscal information as the source of main data.By using GIS and RS as techniques, the paper establish the potentiality evaluation of revegetation system which including normalize difference vegetation idex(NDVI), elevation index, index slope, aspect index, index of soil temperature, soil moisture index, soil vegetation index organic matter content, soil bulk density index, soil porosity index number of factorsof Huangfuchuan river basin.The paper integrate evaluation model based on Entropy Weight Method, research and analysis the strength of the revegetation potential, and analy the results, and put forward opinions and suggestions to improve the environment.The main conlusions in this paper are as follows:(1)Huangpu River basin in 2000 and 2013 the overall potential for Revegetation is not strong, but the potential for vegetation restoration in 2013 are stronger than the overall potential for vegetation restoration in 2000. But the potential for recovery of vegetation in the study area is uneven. Potential for recovery of vegetation in the north and west are better than south ana east.(2)This paper study the land-use types in 2000 and 2013,combining 1987 and 2000 research data,it’s found forest area increased slowly of Huangfuchuan Basin, the area of bare rock reduce slowly,although the decrease rate is relatively small, but it is always in the trend toward good. At the same time(3)The paper analyz and compare the vegetation coverage in the study area,and find that vegetation coverage in 2013 is higher than in 2000.Combining with soil type,it can provide some suggestions on the selecting the species of vegetation restoration.(4)Comprehensive analysis of the potential for vegetation restoration system which based on law of Entropyis uesd in this paper.This method can avoid error from empowermen weight value from human,use the original data, objectively assignment to every indicator, make the evaluation process more convenient, make the evaluation more scientific resultsand more reasonable.(5)Due to the study area environmentid is complex and special, Vegetation restoration potential of the area is still rare. The paper generated revegetation potential rating chart,it’s can provide suggestions for Vegetation restoration working.( 6) This paper using a combination of GIS and RS technology analyze the strength of Huangfuchuanbasin vegetation restoration potential. GIS and RS technology combines with high efficiency and large amount of information, which can quickly and accurately evaluated.
