Gas production field are located in inaccessible areas that have inadequate infrastructure, and gas wells production are also established in remote areas. The automated and unattended gas wells production data acquisition and transmission are crucial for the gas field development and production. According to the majority of gas field productions’actual situation of the gas-rich western region of China, the gas wells production data acquisition and transmission system based on wireless sensor networks (WSN) and BeiDou satellite communication are researched and designed.The thesis design of the system includes three major parts:gas wells production data acquisition, BeiDou satellite data transmission and remote monitoring host. Gas production field complete the gas wells production data acquisition and information uploaded by WSN and remote terminal unit (RTU); data remote transmission using BeDou satellite short-message communication are completed; data reception, data storage and remote production monitoring are completed by remote monitoring host.This thesis selects the ZigBee technology as the wireless communication technology of WSN data acquisition. The hardware circuit of end device and router nodes and RTU are designed, and the wired data collection instruments are modified or upgraded. The software process of production data acquisition and data transmission by ZigBee are designed in the thesis. BeiDou satellite data received by serial port, database storage and monitoring interface are developed by C#and SQL. The energy-efficient routing algorithm of ZigBee is preliminarily researched and network simulator is based on the energy aware CMMBCR algorithm of ZigBee routing protocol on the paper.Finally, the thesis is validated by experiment and test. The experiment results show that this system is used for ZigBee technology and BeiDou satellite communication completes the gas wells production data acquisition and transmission. The experiment tests also verify the reasonable and feasible prototype system researched and designed. The improved system will have good development prospects and economic benefits in the gas fields.
