In the recent years, urbanization has become a hot topic, and the "ecological civilization construction" in18th CPC shows that the interaction of urbanization and eco-environment is so important to the development of society. Urbanization will effect the eco-environment, and eco-environment protection also depends on the urbanization, they have an interrelation. Base on the Northam curve and Kuznets curve, urbanization must be related with the eco-environment, the plan should think about the impetus of urbanization and the carrying capacity of eco-environment. In this situation, the sustainable development of urbanization involving the coordinating relationship between urbanization and eco-environment.The high speed of China’s urbanization has got lots of notice. The paper combines the research in these years, base on Chongqing’s situation, clutches the urbanization and environment systems, combines the human culture and nature system, based the5function zones, researching the urbanization and environment. The paper follow these thought:explain the concept; analyzes the mechanism of action between urbanization and environment, finds the theory and feedback mechanism; using Chongqing’s panel data, analyzing the feature of urbanization and environment; analyzes each counties’data, evaluates their urbanization, environment, coupling factor and coordination; proposes some suggestion.The conclusions are as follows:(1) From2005to2012, Chongqing’s counties showed a rising trend on urbanization index and eco-environment index, but some went back. In total, developing in a steady pace, show the result of urbanization and eco-environment protect.(2) From2005to2012, the coupling factor of eco-environment is0.379to0.500, shows that these counties are still in a antagonism period. In the5function area, the New Urban District is the best. In the urbanization developing, Chongqing should stress eco-environment building, guarantee the development of urbanization and eco-environment.(3) From2005to2012, Chongqing’s the coordination of urbanization and eco-environment is forward with few drops, the coordination index is0.301to0.638. The coordination’s development shows a situation, from mild imbalance to primary harmonious, from loss development to retarded development. So, Chongqing should stress urbanization development, combines the development and eco-environment.(4) In the spatial dimension view, there are differences among each index, like urbanization, eco-environment, coupling factor, and coordination degree. These differences connect with the development and eco-environment. And this shows that they are different in each county, including the policy, nature, though and space.(5) Internal factors of urbanization and eco-environment play the vital role, which can be called one change makes all changes, the changes of each local factors will affect the overall state of development. Therefore, how to achieve the optimization of the coupling coordination relationship status between urbanization and ecological environment, which also needs the government, the environmental protection department, the department and other related departments do some thing to achieve "win-win".
