Live pig industry is always the pillar for the animal husbandry in China. In the meantime, living consumption of Chinese residents can’t do without pork. Since ancient times, there was the saying that "the country is stable as long as pigs and grains are stable" to warn the later generations. Therefore, maintaining the production balance and sustainable supplying of live pigs is of significant meaning to the stability of national economy and society. Besides, china has a huge population but a weak foundation. So its resources are relatively tight. Since a long time ago, the supplying of the live pig market mainly depends on the majority live pig production peasant households. They made great contribution to keep the relative stability of China’s live pig supplying. What’s more, development among Chinese regions is unbalanced and inharmonious. The live pig production is still the pillar industry for many underdeveloped regions and agricultural counties; and is an important method for peasant households to solve the employment problem, increase income as well as get rid of poverty and become better off. If interest of the majority live pig production peasant households could not be maintained, it may happens that wide range of peasant households exit the live pig industry like2006, which may cause the shortage of pork supplying and increase the living burden of ordinary residents in rural and urban areas. The study, right on the basis of the above background, starts from the perspective of maintaining interests of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" interests and keeping the sustainable and stable development of domestic live pig supplying to analyze the live pig production behaviors of peasant households and their influencing factors, by comprehensive applying of the individual behavior theory, rational-economic man hypothesis, behavioral economics theory and motivation theory. Then, on the basis of the198valid data obtained by the field investigation of the author and by applying the Logistic regression model, the study conducts empirical analysis on the influencing factors on the live pig production behaviors of peasant households, on the basis of which to put forward corresponding policy suggestions.Below are the main conclusions of this study:(1)Rationality and Irrationality exist simultaneously among peasant households. On whether the peasant shall be engaged in live pig production, there are rational judgments and irrational behavior decisions such as "blind follow" and "trend follow" phenomenon.(2) The effect of subsidy policy on reproductive sow is not obvious.(3) Epidemic disease still continues to show frequent situation, and the disease treatment exists hidden dangers.(4) on whether expand the live pig production scale or not, the households concern much on the fund, the epidemic treatment, the live pig procurement price, the live pig insurance, the live pig subsidy and the market information, Among which the fund and the disease prevention and treatment are the most important.(5) In the empirical analysis, influences of explaining variables "family size of agricultural labor force","acreage under household cultivation" and "liability" on live pig production behaviors of households are positive; influences of explaining variables "amount of non-agricultural source of income","schooling of household head" and "epidemic disease" on live pig production behaviors of households are negative. They are in line with the pre-judgment.The main suggestions of this study:(1)Strengthen the cultivating techniques for the households.(2) Improve and perfect the pig subsidy standards; implement the pig insurance policy effectively.(3) Do a really good job in disease prevention and control work, strengthen drug regulation.(4) Strengthen capital, policy support efforts to promote large-scale, standardized breeding.(5) Improve the pig market information system; formulate the live pig protection price.
