The Study Of Management Of Mongolian Historical Archives Reserved In Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Archives

With the flourishing development of ethnic archival research, many archives with distinctive national features, especially Manchu archives, Tibetan archives, and Dai archives distributed in the southwest of China, enjoy more and more attention. As an ethnic nation whose population exceeds a million, the Mongolian nationality has made significant contribution to the everlasting development of Chinese history. Originating from the historical evolution of the Mongolian nationality, Mongolian historical archives belong to cultural heritage with unique national flavor, which record authentic production process, daily lives, class struggle and the history of national revolution of the Mongolian nationality, and function as original documents and resources for the study of the history of Mongolian nationality, China, and even the whole world. For reasons concerning history, geography and other factors, most of the Mongolian history records are kept in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Archives. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the government of China, Mongolian historical archives reserved in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Archives have made outstanding achievements from various aspects, their management becomes increasingly normative, and their theoretical study witnesses further improvement.After visiting the Mongolian archives department of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Archives, the author finds that its management work for Mongolian historical archives exists many problems:many fonds of the Mongolian historical archives reserved in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Archives are not complete, the species and structure are simple; problems exist in the organization process such as the poor quality of some groups of archives and the incompleteness of archives titles; there is a lack of professional researchers and financial support in translation and publication, and the depth of theory for research is insufficient; the retrieval mode is backward, the service pattern is simple, and its utilization service is far from meeting the needs of society and its users; the process of archives digitization and website construction for archives is slow, which needs to be solved immediately.In the introduction, the author represents research background and purpose, research significance, research design and methods for the study of the Mongolian historical archives reserved in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Archives, and relevant literature review is provided; the body of this thesis, which includes five parts, offers the basic situation of the Mongolian historical archives reserved in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Archives in the first place, and the following four parts analyze the management of these archives from four perspectives:the collection and organization, compilation and publication, utilization service and informatization construction, during which the current situation, the remaining problems and corresponding measures for improvement are provided.This thesis intends to promote the characteristic archives kept in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Archives, that is, the Mongolian historical archives, reveal their significant historical value and calls for the attention from researchers on them. With the academic results obtained from this thesis, it is the author’s sincere hope to improve the management of the Mongolian historical archives reserved in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Archives, guarantee better development and utilization of these archives and realize their value in a better manner.
