With the development of economy, our country is also investing more and more in road construction. However, some problems of road traffic haven’t been worked out. So the feasible method to solve the problem of road traffic is how to improve effectively the efficiency of road management by using advanced management and technological methods. It is a good way of solving the problem of road traffic by the development of ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems).The vehicle path is an important part of the data information in intelligent transportation system. Path recognition methods confirm the vehicle real driving circuit. The problem of path recognition is divided into the path problem in the city road and on the highway. This thesis mainly aimed at highway situation, and for the city road do a preliminary study.The path recognition in the city road can provide important reference for management and planning for department of public security management and department of urban planning. But the research of path recognition in the city road is still immature. Highway vehicle routing information is important to the highway toll collection and separation.This thesis discuss the method of the path recognition that is based on the data of high definition bayonet. Use the license plate number as a unique identifier, and realize the path recognition by license plate matching. According to the direction of vehicles, it comes up with path recognition in the city road in the situation of data loss.With the rapid development of our society, the highway network is becoming more and more complex. The problem of path recognition is becoming increasingly apparent in expressway networking toll, and with the newly opened sections continue to be incorporated into a regional road network, there will be come up with multiple loop nested, making the complexity of path recognition poly increase. Then the healthy development of highway interconnection charges will be restricted. With the increase of the ETC user, it is necessary to make a scheme of path identification for ETC users. Under the background of Guangdong expressway networking toll,This thesis comes up with the method of ETC vehicles path recognition that is based on ETC identification station in Guangdong highway network, Use ETC identification station instead of artificial identification station. Introduce the ETC identification station system architecture, Lane scheme, Operation flow design, Data flow design, and Function module design. The use of the system improves the vehicle speed, reduces the operating costs, and produces good economic and social benefits.
