Design And Implementation Of Campus Network Accounting System

In recent years,with the increase of power CERNET construction, many national universities have set up their own campus network through the CERNET.Because it should be paid to use the source of the CERNET, the accounting management has become an important part of network management in order to guarantee the normal operation of it. With the Jining Teachers College was promoted to the undergraduate college, in order to improve the level of teaching and scientific research,campus network construction has been in full swing.The traditional "monthly/annual" accounting model has been unable to meet the demand. There is an urgent need to establish a perfect,scientific,accurate billing and accounting system for campus network.Grounded on the actual billing requirements of campus network of Jining Teachers College, four kinds of current used accounting principles and flow data collecting mode are analyzed and compared, then a accounting system is developed for the needs of campus network charge management. The system is based on transparent gateway as a flow collecting device,the Linux kernel firewall and Netfilter framework as the basic technology,complete the interception and traffic statistics data packets in the kernel,the kernel-space and user-space use Netlink communication system.This system uses MySQL database and active pages technology, this system is set to achieve the user authentication,user management,ip address management.The system adopts MD5encryption technology and backup strategy,also gives different permissions on system administrators at different levels,guarantee security of user information and data.The system’s functional and performances are tested, the result shows that the accounting system based on transparent gateway can realize accurate accounting for ordinary users, free user and administrator users,the system can meet the charge management demand of Jining Teachers College campus network user.
