Traffic safety and operation is closely related to the meteorological department. Hail,fog and other weather disasters often cause road congestion, road closures, and evenlead to a major accident, the traffic safety to the local economy and their own econo-mic losses. Therefore, strengthening the weather warning forecasting for the fog, rain,snow, etc. major impact on traffic is an important guarantee to achieve transportationsecurity, smooth and efficient.This project based on the existing software systems of Hubei Provincial Meteorolo-gical Bureau, collections the other nationwide softwares’ advantage, and conductedseries of development. Developed a set of suitable Hubei Meteorological departmentsof transportation weather service software system aims to enhance the level of trafficand weather forecasting services in Hubei Province.Early development of the system of the status quo of domestic and international trans-portation meteorological service system are analyzed first, and then design their owntraffic analysis based on the specific circumstances of Hubei Province, is holding eig-ht principles of system design: advanced, economical, prospective, open, stability, se-curity, scalability, and Maintainability.The system is a meteorological services of the transport system, based on WEBG-IS,and to be a collection of monitoring, forecasting,warning information and dissemina-tion, with specialized, sophisticated and quantitative characteristics of the traffic me-teorological service product release. Includes real-time monitoring of meteorologicaltraffic warning, traffic weather information display, traffic meteorological service pro-ducts produced, user access control, traffic meteorological services product launchesand other subsystems, to provide efficient and rapid professional meteorological ser-vice guarantee for the province traffic safety.Hubei Expressway meteorological service system design decisions include uni-fiedplanning, hierarchical design, standard advanced, unified system, combine B/S andC/S, use the mature, stable middleware components, modular design, design principle and etc.According to demand, reasonable division of functions of the system, based on thegoal of building the system, the Hubei Expressway meteorological service system de-signed for four systems:the live monitoring subsystem, warning and forecasting prod-uction subsystem, the subsystem and monitor traffic weather service management subsystem. In the development process, development of the system is divided into twoparts:warning and forecasting algorithm module development, transportation weatherservice platform. The former to the latter algorithm module provides an interface, wh-ich contains the above four sub-systems.Finally, summed up the lack of system development process and lessons learned, butalso summed up the system inadequacies and scalability prospected.
