Research On Cover Story About Sanlian Lifeweek Magazine

This thesis tries to analysis the cover stories of “Sanlian Lifeweek Magazine”,viewed from the news and communication theories，point to visualize its “lifestyle”edit philosophy and theorize the unique idea of editing. Based on lots of empiricalmaterials, which includes significant cover stories of “Sanlian Lifeweek Magazine”and other typical newsweek magazines, this paper expounded the patterns and basedas comprehensive as possible, and to excavate further significance of the cover storyin a magazine by continuing and innovating original researches. The whole thesis isdivided into four chapters.Chapter one is mainly about the development of cover story in “SanlianLifeweek Magazine”. First, the author would show the origin of“cover story” conceptin China, then introduce the formation and background of cover stories in “SanlianLifeweek Magazine”, and along with the foundation of this magazine, the authordescribe development pathes of “cover story” concept abundantly. At last, talkingabout the value of cover story in newsweek magazine and where it is positioned in thecommunication.In Chapter two, starting from the selection of subject, it is mainly about theanalysis of theoretic support, which contained idea, editorial policy and effectiveness,and to explained and supported typical cover stories between “Sanlian LifeweekMagazine” and “China Newsweek”,“Phoenix Weekly” etc..In Chapter three, according to the perspective subjects, the author divided coverstories of “Sanlian Lifeweek Magazine” into two categories. Based on news peg, onthe one hand, divided current policies into two classes, which are People and Event;on the other hand, divided the news about daily life into material life and spiritual life.Then156cover stories would present by table, and be analyzed with concreteexamples. Finally, the author talks about the environment of paper media in China andanalyses the negative factors, such as the impacting of mass foreign periodicals, theincreasing discourse power of foreign capital and the infiltration in internal operationby managerial authority of foreign media. Then use the cover stories of “SanlianLifeweek Magazine” as a point cut, to investigate how to avoid the adverse invasion,to maintain the features and strength, and to enhance competitiveness by setting aboutthe cover story.
