Digital library, as the information center of colleges and universities, provides professional information services for teaching and scientific research. The digital library information service refers to the library’s activities and services, related with the scientific and teaching research, in information collection, processing, storage and dissemination with the help of computers, mobile intelligent terminal equipments and other modern electronic equipments in the network environment. The aim of library’s work is to provide users the digital information products and services. Network function is decided by the role of the digital library; meanwhile, the development of network technology also has promoted the development of the library. And the development of digital library is just due to the emergence of the Internet in the1980s. So network construction has become an important fundamental section in the construction of the digital library. Only in a stable and efficient network environment, can the digital library provide knowledge and service, can the information collected by the digital library be used efficiently by the readers, and can the function of digital library be realized.According to the network transformation plan of the library of Nanjing University of Finances and Economics, this paper makes a second overall-and-detailed plan for the original network under the principle of advancement, practicability, high availability and high security. The overall design part illustrates the topological structure and the data flow, and the detail design part provides functional design according to the application requirements, security demands and the attributes of new device. Safety is also the key point of the design. Relying on the new firewall and the flow control device, it makes the security-policy design and real-time network monitoring with the new network environment as the target in accordance with our library’s needs. The ending part is about the replacing of the old system with the new system, the related installation work included as well. According to the detailed design, all functions are implemented one by one, each followed with a test. The test result turns out to be good, and the new network environment meets the demand of our library and works stably.
