With the development of the computer network technology, Network bandwidthhas been greatly improved,at the same time it has laid the foundation for thedevelopment of multimedia network transmission.As we all known, multimedia hasthe following characteristics: real-time, interactivity, persistence, synchronization.How to ensure and improve the multimedia QoS, meanwhile meeting theabove-mentioned requirements, has become the urgent problem to be resolved bystreaming media technology. Streaming media technology includes streaming mediacompression technology, streaming media transmission architecture and synchronouscontrol technology, streaming media server system architecture design and streamingmedia storage strategy. For the purpose of ensuring and improving the streamingmedia QoS, it is necessary to improve overall system performance. In order toimprove overall system performance, the related researches mainly focus onstreaming compression technology and streaming media server system architecturedesign. In addition, streaming media transmission architecture and synchronouscontrol technology are also the same important. This paper focused the streamingmedia transmission architecture and synchronous control technology. The mainaccomplished work is as follows:First, this paper analyzed the network request features and the streaming mediacharacteristics. In order to satisfy the above-mentioned requirements, a novelstreaming media communication model based on general-purpose computer isproposed. According to these requirements, this paper analyzed and designed the coremodule: real-time scheduler module, multi-task management module, multi-sessionmode, multi-streaming source connection model, and communication protocol driverlayer. At the same time, this paper designed real-time task scheduling algorithm basedon Socket I/O, real-time task time synchronization algorithm, and network IO eventdetection&event task scheduling algorithm based on Socket I/O.Second, based on the above communication model, this paper researches andmakes a detailed analysis of the streaming media transmission synchronous controlstrategy. A streaming media transmission synchronization control algorithm based onthe receiving buffer is proposed in this paper. It applies to the unicast transmissionand multicast transmission, and makes a good synchronization effect between thesending process and the playback process of streaming media. In addition, the limits of embedded storage resources are also considered in this algorithm. In order to copewith the instability of the network bandwidth, this synchronization control algorithmis improved. The main idea is making up for the delay jitter.Finally, the experimental platform is set up to verify the effectiveness of thestreaming media transmission synchronous control strategy and the performance ofthe communication model. The results of the experiment demonstrated that thiscommunication model is able to meet the requirements of streaming mediatransmission, the effectiveness of synchronous control is satisfactory, and theimproved algorithm can compensate for the delay jitter.
