The rapid development of fiber grating sensing technology has brought along the innovation of fiber grating demodulation technology. The excellent characteristics of fiber Bragg grating sensors consist of passive, corrosion-resistant, high temperature resistant, anti-electromagnetic interference, which makes its application become more and more widely, and the research of Fiber Bragg Grating demodulation system has become a hot research topic between experts and scholars around the world. However, the new the sensor network raises new challenges and difficulties to Fiber Bragg Grating demodulation, which has the characteristics of distributed, long-distance, high-precision, high-speed, multi-channel, high-capacity. In these difficulties and challenges, data transmission and the performance of monitoring software has become an important part of the demodulation system. The higher indicators and the big amount of data require the better way of data transmission. In order to solve this problem, it has to improve data transmission rate. At the same time, the monitoring software plays an important part in the performances of the demodulation system, which includes monitoring demodulation results, monitoring demodulation results, monitoring the time-domain waveform, monitoring the time-domain waveform, monitoring frequency-domain waveform and data storage. This paper mainly researches the better way of data transmission and the design of the monitoring software.This paper is based on the platform of high-speed fiber grating demodulation system; it contains analysis the fiber grating data characteristics, research of the technology of data transmission, and the design of data transmission system based on FPGA, analysis of the system software requirements. It includes the following:(1) Serial coding of the fiber grating data, which reduce the amount of data transmission, design of the hardware system based;(2) Compression algorithm of fiber grating data based on FPGA hardware system, which solve the problem of large-capacity data transmission and improve efficiency of data transmission.(3) The design of high speed data buffer, which solve problems of the real-time data and synchronization.(4) The design of data receiving and decoding, design the Fiber Bragg Grating wavelength demodulation algorithm and sensor calibration algorithm for multi-channel and high-speed system. At the same time, it improves the waveform display of monitoring software by designing the monitoring module, completes real-time monitoring of the signal waveform and frequency domain analysis and complete real-time data storage.Experimental testing showed that data transmission meet the requirements of real-time, which runs stability, and the rate dynamic data compression reaches40%that reduce the amount of data transmission effectively under the guarantee of integrity of data. The monitoring software runs stalely under a long time, showing good signal waveform, data storage fast and completely, the software is easy to operate, and has a good user experience.
