The rapid development of wireless network and3G technology has made it a possibility for people to use Smartphones to browse and get access to information. Currently, most campuswide information servers are built on B/S or C/S structure and WebPages, which is not very convenient for teachers and students. Using a computer to access the internet at all times and places are impossible, but smart phones have made this impossibility a possibility, because people can take their cell phones wherever they go. This provides the probability to access the database with mobile communication equipment. Designed on the basis of the enquiry system in campuswide information servers, this system mainly aims at developing an enquiry system which can be applied on android system.This paper firstly introduces the background of the systems development and the reasons of the topic, states the advantages for choosing Android system as the platform, analyzes the basic knowledge on android system, and further studies the five components of application program. It also sets up a platform for developing Android system and analyzes the tools needs for the development.Then, referring to a survey of the demands for campuswide inquiry system built on Android system, a detailed analysis on the datasheet of the system is conducted and explained by diagrams. An elaborate introduction to the functions of the modules and an E R diagram are also accurately shown in the paper. What’s more important, an analysis on the current campuswide information servers and the modules suitable to my college are clearly presented in the paper. The design of a complete inquiry system can provide functions for students to inquire personal information, teachers’information, course arrangements, tuition and their grades. Besides, the system can also enable the students to set up their own micro blogs to evaluate teaching, sign up for elective courses and exchange information.At the end of the paper, it mainly discusses a test of some functional module conducted on Android system simulator. It also talks something about a UI design for some interface, with the focus on analyzing the application of several key modules in the inquiry system.
