With the scientific and technological progress and the improvement of the socio-economic level, people put forward higher requirements of life and social security. In some important areas, perimeter security measures is essential. Traditional perimeter security solutions such as video surveillance, infrared correlation, microwave detection, etc, there are a variety of defects and deficiencies has been unable to meet the requirements of the perimeter alarm system.Because of the optical fiber sensor has high sensitivity, resistance to electromagnetic interference, continuous measuring, high temperature resistance and other prominent advantages, this paper proposed a fiber perimeter alarm system based on the DSP and FPGA. Through the fiber optical sensors to detect the vibration signal of the monitored area, to determine whether the monitored area anomaly intrusion, It can be qualitative and positioning of abnormal events, and realize the all-weather real-time monitoring of the monitoring area. This system has features of simple structure, easy to install and high integration, and does not require additional industrial computer and data acquisition card, not only simplifies the system structure, but also reduce the system cost greatly, and solves the fiber perimeter alarm system bottleneck of expensive, which limits its popularization and application. The system has a simple structure, easy to install and has a good prospect of application.Firstly, the research status of perimeter alarm system for optical fiber and several kinds of application of more mature theories are introduced, choose Mach-Zehnder interference sensor as the system design scheme, and the Mach-Zehnder sensing principle and theory of phase modulation are discussed. Secondly, a detailed introduction of fiber optic perimeter alarm system based on DSP and FPGA, mainly includes three parts:the fiber sensing module, FPGA and ADC data acquisition module and DSP data processing module, each module hardware circuit structure and chip selection, system software design part of fiber perimeter alarm system based on DSP and FPGA has carried on the detailed introduction. The system compare with the existing system by simulating several typical incursions. When there are abnormal event occurs, send out sound and light alarm and monitoring information is displayed through the LCD module.GSM module to send alarm information to the monitoring personnel, enabling remote monitoring. Finally, pointed out the improved direction of the problems and shortcomings of this system and made a further outlook for future work.
