Automobile hub spray-paint,as a key link of automotive industry,plays an important role in the quality Improvement of the hub and even the whole automobile.With customers’ improving requirements, the hubmaking enterprises have suffered from more and more severe competition.Meantime they are facing new challenges such as the traditional inefficient manual work or the energy-intensive and Contaminated Electroplating methods. study is conducted focusing on problems including the low uniformity of the paint film, the threats to the workers’health and environmental pollution. Combined with hub spray-paint process, this paper puts forward a method that using industrial robot to spray instead of traditional manual operation. It can economize the production cost, raised the quality and is also important to promote the industrial automation of hubmaking. The main research results of this paper are as follows:1.Firstly,the analysis of the hub spray-paint process was done. In order to control the thickness and uniformity of the paint film,the approximate accumulative model of paint film is bulit based on experimental data and subsequently infers the more precise beta distribution model.The three-dimensional distribution image was ploted in MATLAB.By analysing the influence to the uniformity of paint film due to the different spray painting distance,a proper spray painting distance range is made out so it can be prepared for experiment.2.Aiming at the problem of how to get trajectory and gesture to realize robot automatic spray-paint through remote control.This paper proposed a method which can get the gesture based on UG processing.By analsing tdifferent curves of the hub, the attitude angle of every point on trajectory can be acquired.And the spray painting height and offset error which can influence the quality of paint flim were also analysed.Combined with the information of robot trajectory, the hub spray painting simulation experiments were carried out.3. In terms of the telecommunication relationship between the robot and the computer.A robot spray-paint control system was developed based on MFC in VC2008.Finally,the hub spray painting experiment platform was built and the experiment results shows that the robot can achieved the spraypainting work well,and some improvement suggestions were proposed to make the robot spraying better.
