With the rapid development of IT technology, E-commerce is graduallypenetrated into all aspects of people’s life. In this context, both the electriccommercial enterprises and logistics company should seize the opportunity tostrength the competitive power and to promote enterprise development andexpansion. There exist many new characteristics of logistics distribution underE-commerce, such as”more variety, small quantity, high frequency, short period, bigfluctuation”, etc. It is no doubt that the order fulfillment is becoming more and moredifficult, which has already been the bottleneck of the enterprises’ development.what’s more, with rises in land cost and labor cost, the major issues facing theinvolved enterprises are how to maximize the utilization of storage areas, decrease theoperating cost and minimize the picking errors. However, small parts order-picking isthe main working form in distribution center of E-commerce, its proportion reaches99%. Besides, the delivery capacity reaches up to tens or even hundreds of thousandsof orders per day. Therefore, the efficiency and accuracy of order-picking are mattersmost in distribution center. From the above description we can see that it is of greatsignificance to study the warehousing and order-picking operation in distributioncenter under E-commerce.Against this background, by reviewing the recent related literature and learningthe advanced experience from domestic and abroad about the high-efficiencydistribution center construction, a sound theoretical and practical foundation has beenestablished for this study. In this paper, Based on the principle of the combination oftheory and practice, the concept of “warehouse-picking integration” is innovativelyapplied into distribution center of E-commerce, the core idea of which is integratingthe warehousing into order-picking. By doing so, the system proposed by this paper isnot only a warehousing system, but also a order-picking system. The integrated system is mainly divided into two parts by analyzing the IQ, EIQ and picking unit, they are pallet storage area and box storage area. Large commodities are stored intopallet areas, while the small commodities are stored into box areas. When receivingthe orders, the system automatically analyze the orders and send commands towarehousing system, the corresponding goods placed in the box or on the pallet areautomatically transported to the “goods to person” working station, the pickers pickout the goods according the display. These goods are distributed to the consumersafter packing. In order to further improve the efficiency of the integrated system, theproposed system are optimized in this paper, which includes two parts, that is storagearea optimization and storage location optimization. Item-location coupling method isapplied into storage area optimization. Pareto-based genetic algorithm is used in thestorage location optimization. Finally, the feasibility and validity of the proposedapproach are verified by a case study. The fifth part is the conclusion of this paper. This section sums up the wholepaper and points out insufficiencies and problems that need to be solved further.
