Character recognition is one of the popular application researches in the world. Thisarticle through to preprocess the image, image segmentation, programming, proposes acomprehensive method of character recognition, and using single-chip system to build adrive circuit and display circuit, mainly to complete the following three parts.Extracting a feature identification. To determine the threshold selection based ongray-scale image histogram split images into a single character, to locate the characterimage segmentation, and take full advantage of the characteristics of the image of alicense, using a standard template Statistics Act, reached a high recognition rate.The features of numbers will be extracted using software like Matlab and programmedfor the single-chip system. The extracted binary matrixes will be transformed intohexadecimal codes, which can be identified and displayed on the single-chip system.The whole system is composed of a single-chip clocking circuit, a driver circuit and adisplay circuit.
