The railway yard equipment layout (referred to as railway yard plan) is the basis of therailway station signal engineering design. Based on the railway yard plan, the two-line trackcircuit equipment layout of railway station focuses on identifying the closed-loop of the trackcircuit and determining the polarity of each track section through the repetitive detection,calculation, adjustment and verification. In terms of the expression form of the drawings, therelated information of the railway yard plan is reserved, and two kinds of lines thick and thinare used to mark the power polarity of the different track sections so as to satisfy the nature ofpolar reversal, and other elements such as the appropriate switch jumper and straight orcurved cutting are set.The two-line track circuit equipment layout of railway station is an essential part of thesignal design. With high degree of intelligence, it presents difficulties to designers. Therelated design software is relatively rare. The existing software has many inadequacies in itsfunctionality, accessibility and ease of using, and some is just exploratory research. As aresult, this paper proposes a design method to generate two-line track circuit equipment layoutof railway station automatically from railway yard plan. In order to complete the two-linetrack circuit equipment layout of railway station quickly and accurately, the paper uses theideas and algorithms that computer graphics can make automatic recognition and intelligentdecision.Firstly, the current development of railway yard design and of related computer aideddesign software is introduced briefly. In addition, some essential contents such as the conceptand role of the two-line track circuit equipment layout of railway station are expounded.Secondly, the common method to design the two-line track circuit equipment layout ofrailway station is studied, and the relationship between the railway yard plan and the two-linetrack circuit layout is thoroughly analyzed and explored.Based on the research above, the paper first extracts the related information of the mainelements such as track, turnout, insulated joints and signal from the railway yard plan. Bydoing so, a reasonable data structure is constructed and simultaneously stored. According tothe line network structure in the railway yard plan, track is set as the path and turnout as thenode through which a network topology is constructed. By reference to the backtrackingmethod, the paper then takes an arbitrary turnout node as the root node and repeated node asleaf node to identify all the closed-loops in the network with the iteration cycle manner. Afterthat, the paper tests the polar reversal one by one in the closed-loops. When a closed-loopcannot meet the condition of polar reversal, the method of transferring the turnout insulation, or “artificial crossing method” is used to realize the polar reversal. With all the work doneabove, the two-line track circuit equipment layout of railway station is eventually drawn.This paper describes the structures of several equipments in the railway yard plan and themain algorithm in the process of designing two-line track circuit equipment layout of railwaystation, including the process of closed-loop identification, the process of polar reversalconfiguration, and etc. And taking an existing station as an example, the algorithm is verifiedin the AutoCAD environment.
