With the advancement of science and technology and expansion of fieldexploration in recent years, there is more and more development of Space Science athome and abroad, Outer Space has become an important place for the national scientificactivities and the exploration missions. Development of the space-visualizationtechnology for human to better understand and explore the space environment, to carryout the activities of space exploration and the pre-research for militarization techniquewith substantial significances. However, due to the particularity and complexity of thespace environment, outer space is difficult to fully understand and control. Therefore,the visual simulation in outer space based on Virtual-Reality technology has becomeparticularly important.This paper aims to find a method to simulate the Outer Space with high-efficiencyand high sense of reality, meanwhile, provides a more intuitive presentation.To achievethis purpose,first,I studied the development of technologies outer space environmentsimulation and artificial celestial bodies based on virtual reality technology.Secondly,Iresearched the method on the use of computer graphics theory and the open sourceengine OGRE to create a real-time realistic space environment and artificialcelestial.Then, I tried to find an effective way to improve rendering efficiency with theLOD thinking and a series of key technologies what I applied.Finally,I analysised the simulation process and how achieve real-timeinteraction.The main work of this paper as follows:(1)Based on the Computer Graphics,I used OGRE open-source engine toestablished a visualization framework,(2)I used the key technologies of graphics vision simulation and simulated theouter space scene to meet the demades complexity and Large range of Outer Spaceenvironment vision simulation,(3)I appropriately managed the data to improve the efficiency of the program andachieve real-time rendering further.(4)used Viewpoint control and frame-listener technology, I achieved the purpose of the real-time scene in a high degree of freedom to roam and interact.The key technologies in this paper as follows:the LOD theory, the skyboxtechnology, texture mapping, modeling technology in the shape of the Earth,atmospheric effects simulation, the artificial object run and control simulationtechnology and the billboard technology which used for visual simulation of artificialspacecraft tail and spray flame and explosion effects,etc.This research work intends to reach simulation technology of outer spaceenvironment and artificial object to provide some technical support in this field, andhope to make some innovative and establish a viable program of the outer spaceenvironment simulation system on the basis of the results of predecessors.
