The through-wall radar(TWR) has rose an extensive attention because of its abilityto locate moving target behind the wall which is of great significance in the urban war,anti-terrorist and rescue.To locate a moving target the through-wall radar has to employ a fixed stationaryarray to get a high cross-range resolution instead of the synthetic aperture array. Toachieve a larger aperture and get more target information, the radar has to constitute areceiver attena array which makes the multi-channel receiver and data acquisition(DAQ)system are essential. This thesis mainly focuses on the research of the problemsencountered in the process of the design and implemetion of the multi-channel receiverand DAQ system, such as the analysis and supperession of the false target, base bandsignal conditioning, synchronization of the system, cluster remain of the MTI andcompensation of the system delay for each channel. The details are listed below.1. Analyze the basic theory of the TWR including the ranging and imaging.Compare the different architectures of the reicever and explain the key points need topay attention to when design a direct-conversion receiver. Analyze and simulate theimpacts on the radar performance caused by the drawbacks of receiver and transmitterto find out the characteristic of the false targets rise from these drawbacks.2. Design the signal processing path of the direct-conversion receiver according tothe system requirments. Choose the key ICs to implement the receiver and calculate theparameters of the receiver constructed by these ICs. Design the base band signalconditioning circuit and analyze the key points of the design. Design the DAQ circuitbased on the requirements of the data acquisition.3. Divide the FPGA code into modules to accomplish the data acquisition andsystem control. Design the interface between the modules and the architecture and thetiming inside the module. Design the code and its testbench of FPGA to test the codeunder behavior simulation. Programing the data acquisition software running on the PC.4. Tuning the whole system where the receiver, DAQ and frequency source arecombined together. Test the system under various situation including close loop, through-the-wall moving target detecting and free-space and through-the-wall imaging.Propose a method which and compensate the system delay precisely.
