As an authoritative medical reference material, clinical guideline is of primeimportance in guiding clinical practice. At present, although the importance of clinicalguideline is generally accepted by doctors, it is not widely spread in clinical practicebecause of inconvenience for reading and consulting. In order to solve the problemsduring the development of clinical guideline, it is of great significance to constructclinical guideline knowledge base combined with Artificial Intelligence techniques.Taking hypertension clinical guideline for example, this thesis focuses on theimplementation of hypertension knowledge base combined with the theory of SemanticWeb Ontology. It can be implemented to share knowledge by hypertension knowledgebase. Hypertension knowledge base can also be used to clinical decision support systemas a special function module. The main work of this thesis is presented as follows:Strictly in accordance with the hypertension clinical guideline, the hypertensionontology in Chinese is constructed by Protégé tool which is developed by StanfordUniversity. The hypertension ontology, which is totally supportive of ChineseSimplified, is in line with reading and using habits of Chinese doctors. And then, thediagnosis rules based on Semantic Web Rule Language (SWRL) are constructed. thediagnosis rules are established according to hypertension clinical guideline. At last,diagnostic reasoning is implemented based on hypertension ontology and diagnosisrules.
