Wastewater pollution has formed serious threat to human health, however, the pollution of pulp papermaking waste for the entire body of water and the ecological environment is particularly serious, therefore the present needs to take effective and economic measure to deal with the pulp and paper wastewater. Currently, the adjustments of flocculant dosage in the pulp papermaking water treatment still rely on artificial experience, by researching the nature of waste water flocculation and its zeta potential changes, this thesis proposes that we measure the zeta potential of wastewater to adjust and control its flocculating agent supply, namely we should realize the real-time detection of the zeta potential.Firstly, this thesis uses neural network to model and fit the relationship between the amount of flocculants and the zeta potential according to the wastewater experiment data from the middle wastewater treatment process, The generalization results show that the neural network prediction model has better real-time performance and generalization ability, and determine the zeta potential value when the flocculation effect is best, which for the realization of detecting the zeta potential to optimize and control the addition of wastewater flocculating agent pay the way.Secondly, this thesis aims to research a device that can realize the zeta potential online measurement. Most of the zeta potentiometers measure the zeta potential of wastewater is by using offline methods, which is not conducive to realize full automation. In the laboratory conditions, this research independently develops a zeta potential on-line detection device, whose method is based on potential flow method, then measures the zeta potential of waste water and compares the measured results with Nano-ZS90instruments, though this independent invention device has some errors, but the whole change trend of zeta potential can be used to guide flocculant’s additions and complete the testing purpose of zeta potential, which verifies the feasibility of this device.Finally, in order to make the operator can intuitively and easily observe the zeta potential’s monitoring in the operation of the middle wastewater, this thesis completes the monitoring system design of zeta potential based on PLC and WinCC, the operation effect is good, the operator can timely and effectively adjust the flocculation supply and other process parameters according to the changes of zeta potential in the interface, which meets the requirements of the actual production to achieve good control effect.
