With the development of industry, material is more and more important in product andhuman daily life. In natural environment, there is some corrosion products in materialsurface. Corrosion feature is a very important index for judging corrosion grade, so it ismeaningful in detecting and obtaining material corrosion feature for evaluation of materialcorrosion grade. At the same time, corrosion grade is very important for analysis theadaptability of material in natural environment. At present, it is mainly using manualmethod to detect and obtain corrosion feature. Because of the subjective factor, thedetection result is often different. It brings error in data analysis, it is also affecting datamining and the design of expert system.With the development of computer technology and digital image technology, image isbecoming the important tool in recording information. According to gather imageinformation, image processing and image segmentation, it can achieve the function of thequantitative processing of corrosion feature information, feature segmentation and featureinformation statistics. This paper is established in the image color of material corrosionfeature information in order to realize the judging work by computer. There are threespecific jobs in this paper:In the first, by building image acquisition device to obtain material corrosion featureinformation, and save them in the computer system in image file format. At the same time,do some preprocessing in the original image which can keep the authenticity of the imagecolor.In the second, in order to obtain material corrosion feature information, it can researchin image segmentation as to pick up the corrosion area, then do quantitative processing ofcorrosion feature information. In the RGB space, describe the color value of the corrosionarea.In the third, build the standard color map information table, the color value of thecorrosion area will be compared with the standard color, compute the color differencedegree between them. According to the minimal color difference degree, it can get thecorrosion grade of the corrosion area by computer, so can achieve the function of judgingby computer.This paper does research on image color for evaluation of material corrosion Grade bycomputer technology, image processing, machine recognition and data base technology. Onthe one hand, achieve the function of quantitative processing in material corrosion feature information. On the other hand, realize the function of judging by computer. This methodis not only improving the accuracy of the evaluation, but also reducing artificial laborintensity. It is also providing a new method for researching the corrosion grade of material.It has research value in improving research level in material field.
