The Design And Development Of Community Health Information Management System

With the continuous deepening of our country’s Health Care Reform and the rapiddevelopment of medical career, more and more people need a quick and easy access to awide range of medical services at community hospitals. However the existing servicesystem is no longer sufficient to accommodate the needs of modern society. Forimproving the modern management level and service quality of the domesticcommunity hospitals, reflecting the characteristics of high-tech community hospitals,servicing the most patients, adapting to the rapid development of modern society,meeting the needs of the masses for diverse medical treatments, a community hospitalinformation management system needs to be developed. China’s medical industry isfacing more and more intense competition, so how to make management and work moreefficient, reduce costs, and provide better services for patients is the major problem thatevery community hospital wants to solve as soon as possible. From this point of view, acommunity health information management system is developed in this thesis based onthe advanced theory of information management system and the specific characteristicsof China’s current health care industry. With this system, scarce resources can be shared,the processes of hospital service optimized and the cost of hospital services reduced.Some specific design ideas and solutions are proposed in this thesis based on theactual needs of community hospitals. The first chapter briefly describes the subject’sbackground, analyzes the development status of hospital information managementsystem and its deficiencies, and proposes the main purpose of this thesis. The secondchapter makes a brief introduction to the related technologies and theories on the designand implementation of community health information management systems. The thirdchapter analyzes the fundamental business of community hospitals, then the types ofcommunity hospitals’ information, and finally the system use case requirements, systemfunctional requirements and non-functional requirements. The fourth chapter describesthe system’s overall design goals and principles, then the implementation of the variousfunctional modules, and finally illustrates the system database design. The fifth chapter briefly introduces the implementation of the system. The sixth chapter makes a briefintroduction to the test of this system.VB.Net is used as the system development language, and Visual studio2008integrated with the development environment is used as the development tool. To meetthe requirements that a large amount of information needs to be processed in a shorttime in the community hospitals system, MSSQL2005database is used, and during thebusiness analysis process, UML is used. The residents’ health records management,out-patient registration management, out-patient charge management, pharmacymanagement, medical Information management, summary information management,and system management can be realized through this system. Through an overall test,the system proves to be functional and achieve the desired goals.
