Fieldbus Control System (FCS) which has gradually developed into a new generation of control system after DCS (Distribution Control System), has become a hot topic of the current control field. Among the fieldbus standards, PROFIBUS has become the popular research object at home and abroad, with its various advantages of internationalization, openness and independent of device manufacturer. PROFIBUS includes PROFIBUS-DP, PROFIBUS-PA and PROFIBUS-FMS. PROFIBUS-DP is the most widely used fieldbus system in Europe and the whole world now. Its features of high communication speed (up to12Mbps), strong anti-interference capability, easy installation and easy extensibility, makes it suitable for all kinds of industrial automation field.At present, domestic application and research of PROFIBUS-DP technology is mainly based on system integration and engineering application, product development technology is mainly in some big foreign companies, which makes PROFIBUS-DP products monopolized by these companies and the cost of DP bus products increase, and hinders application and development of PROFUBUS-DP technology in our country. Therefore, it is particularly important to research and develop PROFIBUS-DP products with independent intellectual property.According to DP fieldbus application and development situation and the studying of PROFIBUS-DP protocol structure and communication principle, a DP embedded scheme based on MCU+DPC31+RS-485driver circuit+DPRAM is proposed. The DP slave function is realized by MCU+DPC31+RS-485driver circuit, and the external data exchange function is realized by MCU+DPRAM. Finally, this paper gives the hardware and software implementation based on the scheme. At last, according to the practical application conditions and environment, this paper builds the communication test platform for DP smart slave station and test the DP embedded module function subsequently. The test results achieve the goal we expected. After completing the PROFIBUS-DP smart slave station, this paper also gives the further work by increasing SIM1-2modem circuit in this module to realize PA slave station function, and gives the design methods of hardware and software and the scheme of communication test. Finally, this paper completes the design of hardware and software. The characteristics and innovation of this paper lies in:①Using communication protocol chip DPC31to realize DP slave station function has better expansibility and flexibility.②Using DPRAM to realize external data exchange is convenient, fast, and concise.③The whole software is developed from bottom, then the technology is no longer limited to other countries and we needn’t to purchase product license from abroad too.
