The Application Of P2P Traffic Identify And Monitoring Technology In The Network Operation

Recently, as a representative of file sharing software, BT, is gradually becoming prevailing on the internet.P2P Tracffic plays a huge role in the Ineternet promoting, but also brings accoupate resources over the network congestion, security and digital copyright issues.As P2P media streaming takes up too large network bandwidth to congest the primary network and to impact the normal services, the ISPs and the network administrators have to take measures to control the flooding of the P2P media streaming. This paper designs a systematic traffic identification method of P2P media streaming which is aimed to meat the ISPs and the network administrator’s need. The method in this paper takes the most popular P2P media streaming applications such as PPLive, PPStream, and QQLive as primary research objects, analyze the behavior and the pay load of their traffic thoroughly, sums up some relevant traffic behaviors and key words, and then realizes the identification system through programming. The system is composed of the Traffic Sample Module, the Key Words Definition and Filtration Module, and the Key Words Matching Module.The kernel of the system is the design of the algorithm of the traffic statistic and the key words matching. STL and WINPCAP are taken as the key technology in the design and realization process. At last the test of the system is taken in the lab, and the results show that the system can identify the P2P media streaming traffic exactly at a high rate clearly. And the prevalent problem of taking the traditional HTTP and FTP as P2P in error has been well resolved here,which is much better for meeting the need of the PMS controlling.Thesis summariz and analyze the current domestic and foreign existing P2P traffic identification and control technology; On the basis of analyzing the advantages of deep packet inspection, combination of deep packet inspection and connectivity characteristic of LAN P2P traffic in the transport layer, design and verify program of identification some kinds of traffic and P2P traffic Monitoring System.
