CMOS image sensor has been playing an important role in cell phonecamera, medical video, surveillance, etc, Among which, CCD technologyoccupied a majority of the high end market due to its excellent performance.But in recent years, CMOS technology has showed its advantages over CCD,which includes higher integrity, lower power consumption, with thedevelopment of process. In the whole chip, column read analog array possessesan extraordinary significant position, the quality of which has a direct impact onthe image effect. While IC layout, representing a bridge between the circuit andprocess, plays a tremendous part in the final realization of the design.Related with daily work of the author, this paper emphasizes theimplement of the layout of the array and some skills associated with it. First thedevelopment of CMOS image sensor is outlined, which is followed by thestructure and basic function of the related circuits. And then we discuss brieflyabout what is layout, some problems may be encountered and the solutions tothem. The next one is the detailed introduction of what should be noticed whendo an column array layout, for instance, the match of capacitors, resistors. Atlast, we talk something about how to do a column array layout ranging from thefloor plan, power distribution, actual routing, device match, noise isolation, tothe final layout of the entire circuit, among which some technologies duringlayout were also mentioned.
