We live in the information age, good information literacy hasbecome the basic ability demanded by employers, so Basic ComputerApplication has become a compulsory course of many vocationalcolleges.The main purpose of Basic Computer Application is to developstudents’ computer operation skills, course assessment is focuses onstudents’ practical operation skills, it is quite different with othercourse in the examination form and marking methods. Considered thecharacteristic of the course and the present computer teaching in schoolof health vocational technology, Guangzhou Medical University, the authordesign a “Basic Computer Application” Examination System, the systembased on B/S Structure and APS.NET technology, use SQL server as back-endDBMS.The thesis studies on the key technologies of examination system,design the system function modules, system architecture, and databasestrcture base on the requirement analysis.The thesis also focuses on thefollowing three aspects:One is the revision of difficulty coefficient of exam questions. Datamining technology is applied to the analysis of the test data of “BasicComputer Application”course in the past three years in school of health vocational technology, Guangzhou Medical University; obtain theclassification rule of the degree of difficulty. Teachers set theinitial degree of difficulty for each item, after each examination, theclassification rule or statistical method would be used to revise thedifficulty coefficient of items.The second one is the realization of automatic marking for operationquestions by VBA.The last one is the quality control strategy of exam questions.Analyse the test data after each examination, quality warning would begiven if the difficulty or the differentiation of one exam question isbeyond the normal range for two consecutive times, and then the questionwould be modified or deleted by the teacher. The demarcation of knowledgepoint and its effect on preventing chain reaction and improving thequality of exam questions is also discussed in the thesis.The study of the system, provide a valuable precedent for otherexamination systems in difficulty coefficient revising and test questionquality controling.The system has been test, the system run stably, marking the papersaccurately. Preliminary data showed students’ test scores tend to normaldistribution, it means the revision strategy of difficulty coefficienteffectively, and the quality of examination paper improved.However, thestability of the system and the effectiveness of the strategy ofdifficulty coefficient and exam question quality control remains to befurther verified throught more test data.
